“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did.”

Software Engineer @Interfacewerk since November 2020

My superpower is rapport: I try to make people feel comfortable and at ease and to put myself in the shoes of others to understand them better and establish comfortable relationships.

Travelling, history podcasts, sci-fi books, and cheese 🧀

Rushing, horror movies, and cold weather

I start my day with a short yoga session, followed by a big cup of coffee. After checking my emails and my Slack messages, I will continue working on my tasks from the previous day.

At lunch, I will have a home-cooked meal followed by a short walk around the block to catch some fresh air. In the afternoon, I will use my learning time to learn something new that I will be able to set to practice in my work the next day.

When I am done, I will either do a workout session or meet up with friends for some drinks and a nice chat.

What do you recommend to people that consider changing their career towards being a developer? 🚀

Make sure you enjoy coding and that it’s a good fit for you. I'd recommend spending some time coding on your own before jumping into a Bootcamp or similar.

Becoming a programmer isn’t going to be easy. It's a difficult occupation and at the beginning, you will constantly feel like you don’t know anything.

It will take an extreme level of commitment and patience. But if you have the passion and the will to constantly learn and improve, you will discover day after day how much fun coding can be. 🤓
